Citi Platinum Select CITGO MasterCard Gas Credit Card

One of the gas credit cards available through CITGO is the Citi Platinum Select CITGO MasterCard. This card has no annual fee and you earn 4% rebates each time you purchase gas at CITGO. You can also earn up to 1% cash back on all other purchases. Be sure to pay extra attention to the “up to” aspect of this rewards program because it can really make a difference on how much money you earn back. This is because you earn only 0.5% on purchases less than $5,000 and you do not earn 1% until you have made $5,000 worth of purchases. 

You should also be aware that there are limits on how much you can earn back with this gas credit card. Each billing cycle, you can only earn up to $50 in cash rebates. Furthermore, purchases made at gas stations that do not cell CITGO gasoline do not qualify for any cash back rewards. On the plus side, the rewards you earn with this gas credit cardare automatically redeemed on your credit card. Therefore, you don’t have to go through a bunch of hassles to get the money you have earned when you use this gas credit card.

CITGO Celebrity

Oddly, CITGO also offers a rewards credit card that has very little to do with gasoline. In fact, you don’t earn rewards from gas purchases. Rather, this gas credit card pays you a 5% rebate for other travel-related expenses, such as the purchase of airline tickets, car rental, and hotel stays. This gas credit card also provides you with $1,000 in credit life insurance and $100,000 in flight insurance. Other benefits include credit card protection for all of your credit cards and debit cards, date reminder service, emergency airline tickets and cash, trip routing and maps, worldwide weather service, online account access, and free memberships for family members. 

CITGOFleet Programs

If you are a business owner with a fleet of drivers, you might be interested in participating in the CITGO Fleet Program. With this program, you can obtain a gas credit card for you and for your drivers. When using this gas credit card, you and your drivers receive a $0.05 per gallon rebate on all gas purchases made with CITGO for the first three months of membership.

As the owner of the business, you can also monitor the spending of your drivers when they use this gas credit card. In fact, you can set individual spending limits on each gas credit card you issue and you can place restrictions on how much can be spent on each card per day.

As an added convenience, you can also receive a detailed report on the spending of your drivers. With the online account access associated with this gas credit card, you can check on your financials at any time day or night. 

When it comes to getting cash back, there are certainly better offers out there than the gas credit cards offered by CITGO. Oddly enough, the company even offers a general purpose credit card, called the CITGO Plus gas credit card. This card does not provide any gas rebates, however, and generally does not have anything special to offer to its cardholders.
