Credit Cards Offering Air Miles

If you are a frequent traveler for business or just travel a lot you may be interested in choosing a credit card that offers air miles. These cards typically have a higher interest rate so you really don’t want to carry a balance if you can help it. When choosing a credit card that will give you airline miles be sure you do some in depth research. The initial bonus mile offer can be quite different and some airline mile cards will let you travel on their partner airline and others are available.

British Airways offers a wide array of benefits for their card holders. A 15,000 bonus mile option on your first purchase and you can travel on their respective partners American Airlines and Alaska Airlines. The interest rate after an introductory period will have a variable APR of 16.49 percent.  There is an annual fee for this card of seventy-five dollars and it is only open to US residents.

Northwest has a Visa card that has two options with the Signature and Platinum types. Annual fees are hefty with the Signature coming in at ninety dollars a year and the Platinum at fifty-five dollars a year. You will have travel options in Asia and Europe with this card because of their travel partners and the Apr is 18.0%. This may be an attractive card for those who do travel to the areas where their partners fly.

If you are a fan of Delta Airlines then you can expect to find their online Master Card deal to be a good choice for you. Delta Airline miles offers you up to 40,000 bonus miles depending on your first purchases. You can also earn up to ten thousand on balance transfers and other purchases. There are strict guidelines that must be followed to take advantage of these particular benefits.

If you already have an American Express card but not the airline miles reward type you may want to take a look at some of their offerings. With American Express you can earn one mile for every dollar you spend. You can purchase anything whether it is a flight, gas, books, and music or theatre tickets and still receive these rewards. The American Express card does not require an annual fee. They also don’t have any blackout dates which will give you more opportunities for travel. You do have do use their travel agency to book your travel and you must have acquired enough mileage points to redeem for the trip you have in mind.

These cards will again have many different restrictions pertaining to how fast you will earn mileage points and how many you earn on purchases. If you don’t feel that you will earn miles in a timely manner these cards may not be what you are looking for. The best way to use this card to your advantage is to fly or use it for purchases every month. The larger the purchase price of course the more miles you will earn.
