The thing that most individuals don’t realize with credit card problems is that they waited until it was too late to deal on their own. A credit card company is going to be more willing to help move a payment date, offer a lower monthly payment, or even settle on the account when you approach them as the problems just begin. The credit card company wants to see all or most of the money from you, but if the account is lumped in a bankruptcy the chance of getting a little of that back is almost nil.

These situations can be frustrating and if you are ready to repair your credit from an arrears, quite stressful. So to help you find credit cards when you have problems qualifying you should take a look at the various credit card companies on the internet. Places such as Discover, Orchard, First Premier, and others do have cards they will offer if you have had credit card problems in the past. To obtain these cards you will need to qualify for the requirements. This means you don’t want to apply for every card, but the one you have the most chance of getting.
- If the qualifications state you must have a credit rating of 500 or more to apply then make sure your credit score is that high or higher. You can access a free credit report once a year and some states will also allow you to access your three scores at that time. At most you will pay around ten dollars to get your scores. This assures you that you won’t take any unnecessary hits to your credit score.
Other issues that could arise is having so low a credit score that the only option for your credit card problems is to get a prepaid card. You shouldn’t look at this as defeat. Prepaid credit cards are meant to help you re-establish your credit scores for a better overall outcome down the line. It may take six months to a year for the repair, but these cards are offered to those with credit card problems. The risk is almost nonexistent for the prepaid credit cards and most applications are approved.
